FOOD...FOOD...AND MORE FOOD!

I have come to terms with the fact that Stanley and I will be more than a few pounds heavier when we return to the states.  The food is amazing!  I am a pretty picky eater, but I have found a great deal to eat...probably too much.  A low carb diet would be near impossible here.  Lots of breads and rice and sweets...incredible sweets.

Many items contain coconut.  I tried cashew juice...interesting.  There have been so many types of puddings, cakes, etc...  They are all very sweet compared to what we eat in the US, so a little goes a long way.  The  seasoning is very limited compared to the US.  Not as many hot and spicy foods.  Things are salted a bit more than what I am used too.

This is the restaurant we ate at the first night.

The choices have been overwhelming.  This is Stanley with a teacher from Texas named Loryn.  They chose a variety of things to eat, but steered clear of the cooked beef tongue.

Stanley and I sampled items from the dessert bar.  There were so many choices.  We did not care for the cheese with the guava sauce on it.  Weird texture!!  We really liked the dulce de leche pudding.  Yum!

These pictures show some of the other spreads we have  enjoyed during our first few days in Brazil.
