We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to check our bags and get through security. Once at the gate, we realized that we would be traveling with the fellow from South Dakota, Pat. The flight was overbooked, hot and stuffy. Stanley had to travel in my carry on because their were no extra seats.
In Detroit, we met up with some other fellows. Noelle from Wyoming, Don from Indiana and Tom from Vermont. We were in the same row as Tom and there happened to be an extra seat between the two, so Stanley rode in Economy Comfort on a very long flight that lasted over 10 hours. Stanley liked his seat.
Once in São Paulo,we made our way through customs and met up with staff that was waiting for us. There was also a teacher from Germany there. We posed for the camera.
Stanley badly needed to use the bathroom. Good thing I can read a little Portuguese and there were picture cues on the sign. Oh...and the English on the sign helped.
Pretty soon the rest of the teachers arrived. Look at all that luggage!
Rumor on the street is that Stanley has a crush on Flat Julie. Julie had some serious health issues that are keeping here from being here.
Soon we boarded the bus and were off on our first advenure!
